Terms of Service

1. Eligibility and Legal Compliance

Knucklehead Labs products include knives and tools. You must be at least 18 years old, have legal capacity to enter a contract, and be legally permitted to view, purchase, possess, receive, carry, and use the product in your jurisdiction.

You are responsible for understanding and following every law that applies to you and the product, including local, state, federal, and destination restrictions. Knucklehead Labs does not provide legal advice and may require age or identity verification, refuse an order, or cancel a transaction when reasonably necessary for legal or safety reasons.

2. Product Information and Availability

Jonathan Harrington makes or develops Knucklehead Labs products in small runs. Handcrafted products may show minor differences in finish, color, dimensions, grind, materials, or other details. These variations are part of handcrafted production and are not necessarily defects.

Knucklehead Labs works to present accurate descriptions, photographs, specifications, prices, and availability, but information may be corrected or updated without notice. A product display is not a guarantee that the item is available or an offer that must be accepted.

3. Orders, Acceptance, and Payment

Your order is an offer to purchase. An automated message acknowledging receipt does not necessarily mean the order has been accepted. Acceptance occurs when Knucklehead Labs confirms the order or ships the product.

You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing, shipping, and payment information. Prices, taxes, shipping charges, and available payment methods will be shown before the order is submitted. Payment may be handled by a third-party processor under that provider’s terms.

Knucklehead Labs may limit quantities or cancel and refund an order because of an error, unavailable inventory, suspected fraud, failed verification, payment problems, shipping restrictions, or legal requirements.

4. Shipping and Delivery

Knucklehead Labs currently ships only to eligible addresses within the United States using USPS Ground Advantage. In-stock products normally leave the studio within 2–5 business days after payment and any required eligibility review. Carrier delivery generally takes an additional 2–5 business days, but all processing and delivery dates are estimates rather than guarantees.

A product marked Preorder is not currently in stock. Each preorder product is limited to 30 backorders, with estimated delivery in 3 to 6 weeks from the order date. Delivery timing may change because each item is made in a small run. You may cancel a preorder for a full refund at any time before shipment. If Knucklehead Labs cannot deliver within the estimate, it will provide an updated timeframe and the opportunity to continue waiting or receive a full refund.

Current flat shipping charges are $19.95 USD for the Crusader, $14.95 USD for the Scalpel, $14.95 USD for the Mini Crusader, and $8.95 USD for the Multi Tool. The final shipping charge is displayed before payment. Tracking is provided. Knives should be insured for their full purchase value; carrier coverage and any additional insurance are governed by the carrier’s terms.

Knucklehead Labs may decline or cancel an order to a destination where sale, possession, or delivery appears unlawful or unsafe. You are responsible for supplying a secure and accurate delivery address and confirming that purchase, receipt, and possession are lawful at the destination. Report loss, damage, shortage, or an incorrect item within 3 calendar days after delivery so the carrier record and available remedy can be reviewed.

5. Returns, Cancellations, and Refunds

For an eligible standard product, contact Knucklehead Labs within 14 calendar days after recorded delivery to request return authorization. The product must be unused, uncarried, unsharpened, unaltered, undamaged, complete, and returned in its original packaging. Unauthorized returns may be refused. Unless the product arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect, the customer is responsible for return shipping and original shipping charges are not refundable.

Custom, personalized, modified, used, carried, sharpened, altered, damaged, or clearly marked final-sale products are not returnable except where required by law or where Knucklehead Labs delivered a damaged, defective, or incorrect item. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days after inspection; the bank or card provider may require additional processing time.

An order, including a preorder, may be cancelled for a full refund before shipment by contacting Knucklehead Labs. Once an order has shipped, the return policy applies. Knucklehead Labs may cancel and refund an order that cannot legally or safely be fulfilled.

Nothing in these Terms limits a non-waivable warranty, cancellation right, or consumer remedy provided by applicable law.

6. Safe and Lawful Use

Knives and edged tools are inherently sharp and can cause serious injury, death, or property damage. You are solely responsible for appropriate training, inspection, maintenance, sharpening, storage, transport, carry, and use. Keep all products secured and away from children and unauthorized users.

Do not use a product as a weapon, for unlawful activity, beyond its intended purpose, or when damaged or unsafe. Product descriptions are not a substitute for training, judgment, protective equipment, or compliance with law.

7. Acceptable Website Use

You may not interfere with the site, bypass security, introduce malicious code, scrape or harvest information unlawfully, impersonate another person, use the site for fraud or illegal activity, or attempt unauthorized access to any system or account.

8. Intellectual Property

The Knucklehead Labs name, logo, product names, knife designs, drawings, photographs, text, graphics, and site design are owned by Knucklehead Labs, Jonathan Harrington, or their licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. No right is granted except the limited right to view and use the site for personal, lawful, noncommercial purposes.

9. Third-Party Services and Links

The site uses third-party services including Netlify for website hosting, FormSubmit for contact-form delivery, Stripe for payment processing and tax calculations, and shipping carriers for fulfillment. Knucklehead Labs does not control those services and is not responsible for their independent practices. Your use of a third-party service may also be governed by that provider’s terms and policies.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” Knucklehead Labs disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, except where a warranty cannot lawfully be excluded.

Product-specific written warranties, if any, will control over inconsistent language in this section.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Knucklehead Labs, Jonathan Harrington, and their service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from the site or a product.

Where liability cannot be excluded, aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid to Knucklehead Labs for the product or transaction giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so part of this section may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Knucklehead Labs and Jonathan Harrington from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from your unlawful use of the site or a product, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights.

13. Applicable Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, while preserving any mandatory consumer protection that cannot lawfully be waived. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in North Carolina, unless applicable law requires a different forum.

14. Changes, Severability, and Waiver

Knucklehead Labs may revise these Terms as the website, products, or law changes. The version posted when you place an order will govern that transaction unless law requires otherwise. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
